Mr. Carey
Hello to all of the Oakhurst families! I am going to be the science teacher this year in 4th grade. For the past two years I've been teaching math and science, and I'm super excited to focus on making science instruction as engaging and effective as possible this year. I have an Elementary Education degree with a science focus from NC State University, and I enjoy spending time with my wife and two dogs when I'm at home. Please always feel welcome to reach out if you need anything at all. Email is the easiest way. [email protected] |

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy walking my dog Clyde, exploring resturants in Charlotte, and cooking. I look forward to getting to know your child. My email is [email protected] |

Hello 4th Grade Students and Parents! Hopefully some of you may remember me from second grade, but I am pleased to say that I have joined the amazing fourth grade team and will be teaching Math this year. I have always had a passion for teaching Math and I am excited about our new Envisions Math program that CMS has adopted! I graduated from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York and completed my Masters from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York. I relocated to Charlotte in August 2014 for warmer weather and a bigger city to live in. I previously taught four years in Rochester before moving to CMS. I taught one year at Billingsville Elementary before transferring to Oakhurst. I will be entering my eight year of teaching. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] |

Hi students and families! I have been at Oakhurst teaching 4th grade since it reopened in the 2015-2016 school year. I graduated from Elon University, taught abroad in Japan for a few years, then returned to receive my Masters in Teaching from Queens University to teach back here in my hometown! I love teaching literacy and am an avid reader and writer even when I'm not at school. Let's have a great year! My email is [email protected] |
